    2018 Rev. Ken Blanton memorial golf scramble

    The annual scramble will be Wednesday Aug. 29, at Cedar Fil Golf course. Proceeds benefit Bethany Haven, Nelson County’s homeless shelter for women and children since 1997. Shotgun start is 9 a.m. Individuals and teams of four are invited and the cost is the green fee. Lunch is provided. Donations and hole sponsorships are available.     Bethlehem Eagles football camp

    Bethlehem football coach Bryan Walker will host a camp for boys entering grades K-8 for the 2018-19 school year. The camp will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. June 19-21. Cost is $50. Campers will receive a T-shirt. The camp will focus on basic fundamentals of offense and defense and will have individual and group instructions.     Nelson Co. boys’ hoops camp

    Nelson County boys’ basketball coach Zach Allender is hosting a camp for boys 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. July 16-19. The camp is open to any boy entering grades 2-8 for the 2018-19 school year. Cost is $60 per camper and includes a T-shirt. Camp will focus on fundamentals and feature individualized instruction and evaluations.     Charity golf scramble

    American Legion Post 288 in Bloomfield hosts its annual charity golf scramble Saturday, June 16, at Tanglewood Golf Course in Taylorsville. Cost is $60 per golfer or $240 per team, and play begins at 8 a.m., with late registration available at 7 a.m. Hole sponsorships are also available. Fees cover golf, cart, raffle ticket, special contests and team prizes, and a pig roast lunch. Call 507-1228 with questions or to register.

    Culvertown leagues

    The Culvertown Ballpark is hosting a men’s softball league and a co-ed adult kickball league during the summer. An organizational meeting for both leagues is 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the park. Leagues will start first week of June, with softball played on Tuesday and Thursday night, and kickball set for Wednesday nights. Call 549-3451 for more information.
