Haydon named Bardstown city attorney

Audrey Haydon will be Bardstown’s first female city attorney.

Mayor Dick Heaton announced her appointment at the end of the City Council meeting Tuesday night, and the council approved it.

She will succeed Tim Butler, who is retiring from law practice by the end of the year. Butler had been city attorney since March 2015, when he was appointed by then Mayor John Royalty to replace Bruce Reynolds.

Heaton said Haydon was chosen from among four candidates for the job.
