INOAC plans to lay off half its workers this fall

INOAC Packing Group has notified the state Education and Workforce Development Cabinet of its plans to lay off 72 employees at its Bardstown plant on Nov. 12.

The plant at 901 Nutter Drive opened in 1988 with about 60 employees. A company official told The Kentucky Standard this week the current number is 134.

Al Lustrino, the company’s president, notified the Kentucky Career Center of the job losses as required by the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, which requires that the public be notified of the losses within 60 days.
