  • Local court officials participate in House Bill 463 program on implementing penal code reform

    In a joint meeting, Kentucky’s justices, judges and circuit court clerks recently gathered for a full day of education on House Bill 463, which implemented sweeping penal code reform when it went into effect June 8, 2011. Chief Justice of Kentucky John D. Minton Jr. invited all of the elected officials in the Kentucky Court of Justice to the education program provided by the Administrative Office of the Courts.

  • Bardstown man indicted for reckless homicide in wife’s death

    Note: The indictment of a person by a grand jury or otherwise is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

    A Bardstown man has been indicted in Marion County Circuit Court in the death of his wife.

    James “Jamie” William Pinkston, 37, 5318 Loretto Road, was indicted for reckless homicide after an Oct. 3, 2010, accident killed his wife, Shannon Pinkston.

  • Nelson Circuit Court sentencings: Sept. 27, 2011

    The following people were sentenced recently in Nelson Circuit Court. All had previously entered a plea of guilty or had been found guilty during a criminal trial. Unless otherwise stated, all jail sentences are served concurrently.

  • Bardstown man probated on sexual abuse conviction

    A Bardstown man has been sentenced to five years in prison for two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

    David Wayne Fell, 43, was granted probation for a period of five years, following conditions that he have no contact with the victims and comply with all the requests of his probation officer. He was sentenced to an additional five years of conditional discharge following the completion of his probation period, and was required to register with the Sex Offender Registry for a lifetime.
