  • McCoy’s bill would prohibit copying child porn in courts

    A proposal that would secure child porn held in court proceedings passed the state House Friday morning a day after the Judiciary Committee unanimously approved it.

    State Rep. Chad McCoy, R-Bardstown, the bill’s chief sponsor, said it would prohibit the duplication of pornographic images of children or materials involving the sexual performances of minors, even as part of the discovery process.

    Three days after her husband had committed suicide, Kourtney Wahl Lewis was still convinced the military had responded to her mother’s home during a standoff that ended with a pepper spray bomb tossed into a vehicle.

    “This might sound crazy, but I thought they were going to snipe him or something,” Lewis told Bardstown Police Detective Lynn Davis in a recorded interview July 29, 2016.

  • Nelson Circuit Court sentencings from Dec. 21, 2017

    The following people were sentenced recently in Nelson Circuit Court. All had previously entered a plea of guilty or had been found guilty during a criminal trial.

    Tina Renee Bailey, 37, of Boston, was sentenced to one year in prison for first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Bailey was granted probation for a period of two years following set conditions, including no new offenses. On or about April 28, 2017, Bailey unlawfully possessed meth.

    The following people have been indicted by a Nelson County grand jury and had arraignments set for Jan. 4, 2018.

    Alex Terry Todd, 26, of Boston, first-degree possession of a controlled substance. On or about Nov. 11, 2017, Todd unlawfully possessed meth. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.

  • Court documents detail statements about May murder and robbery

    Seven months after 17-year-old Cameron Williamson was shot and killed, Alexis Gribbins, Damion Murphy, Shelmontay Adams and Torique Griffin await trial for murder and robbery. The four have been accused of conspiring to rob the Bardstown teen, and Adams, of Campbellsville, has been accused of being the shooter.

    All four face a capital sentence that could include the death penalty or life without parole if convicted.
