  • Two indicted for $40K construction theft robbery

    A Bardstown man arrested Jan. 5 for stealing copper and other equipment from the Thomas Nelson High School construction site allegedly partnered with another individual to conduct the crime, according to Nelson County grand jury indictments released Thursday.

    Thomas Ray Yocum, 29, and Selvey James Vittitoe, 31, were indicted on 13 charges including three counts of third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking. Yocum was arrested earlier in January in connection with the alleged theft.

  • Fast food robber served super-sized sentence

    A man arrested in June for robbing two Bardstown fast food restaurants has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

    Jimmy D. Napier, 23, Louisville, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for two counts of second-degree robbery, five years in prison for tampering with physical evidence and five years in prison for fleeing/evading police. The two robbery counts will run consecutively for a total of 20 years. Napier was credited with 168 days in jail.
