    Mary Ann Gritton "Rusty" "Georgia" Bragg, 75, Louisville, died Jan. 23, 2012, at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital with her family by her side.

    She received her BSN in nursing in 1985 from University of Louisville and taught at Spencerian College where she later retired.

    She was a dedicated Christian and served at Beechmont Baptist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was blessed with many good friends.

Willett Sr., 87, died Thursday January 26, 2012 at Flaget Memorial Hospital.  He was a life-long resident of Bardstown, one of the nine children born to Lambert and Mary Thompson Willett. He was married for 62 years to the former Mary Carlile Barber and was the father of eight children.

    Phillip Richard Rogers, 84, Lebanon Junction, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Woodland Terrace Nursing Facility, Elizabethtown. He was a former business partner of Rainbow Liquors in Lebanon Junction. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Lebanon Junction.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Hayden Rogers.

    Mildred Ruth Gordon Bunch, 84, Bloomfield, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at her residence. She was born April 20, 1927, in Woodlawn. She was a homemaker and a member of Cox’s Creek Baptist Church.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Bunch Sr.; three daughters, Frances Garda Allen, Bettye Anne Bunch and Wanda Ruth Bunch; a granddaughter, Robyn Nicole Nally; four brothers, Elmo Bunch, Harold Bunch, William Bunch and George Bunch Jr.; and three sisters, Bettye Evelyn Gordon, Dorothy Collins and Margaret Mills.

    Roy Elbert Vittitow 88, New Haven, formerly of Lyons Station, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at his residence.

    He was preceded in death by his parents John and Lennie Vittitow.

    Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Deloris “Skippy” Lafollette; two daughters, Ava Allen, New Haven, and Becky Sidebottom, Boston.

    The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rolling Fork Baptist Church, with Bro. Larry Brown and Bro. Bruce Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery

    Janice Marie Hicks, 52, New Hope, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Bardstown.

    Born Feb. 26, 1959, in Nelson County, she was a 25-year employee of American Greetings in Bardstown.

    She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Fred Hicks, Sr.; a sister, Sharon Egorow; two brothers, Kenneth Gordon Hicks and David Allen Hicks.

    Elizabeth “Lorean” Downs, 82, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at Essex Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

    She was a devout lifelong Catholic and a retired employee of South Central Bell.

    She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Wallace Downs, Jr.

    Teddy Ray Barnes, 63, Boston, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was a native of Boston. He was a farmer and rode, trained and broke horses by trade.

    He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ruth Barnes.

    Survivors include three brothers, Edward Lee (Patsy) Barnes, Lebanon Junction, Billy Paul Barnes, Boston, and Jimmy (Rose) Barnes, Shepherdsville.

    Cremation was chosen with a private burial in Little Brick Cemetery.

    Betty Aline Shumate Lewis, 68, Springfield, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon. She was born in Nelson County Feb. 27, 1943. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, a homemaker and a 1962 graduate of Old Kentucky Home High School in Bardstown.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Anna B. Simpson Shumate; a brother, R.L. Shumate; and a sister, Mildred Jones.

    Angila Burkhead, 67, Bloomfield, died Sunday Jan. 22, 2012, at her residence. She was the former Angila Terrell, a native of Nelson County, and a former employee of Owens-Illinois now known as American Fuji-Seal. She was a member of Willisburg Church of God.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Pauline Noel Terrell.
