• Louis Bertrand Smith, 90

    Louis Bertrand Smith, 90, Springfield, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville. A native of Washington County, he was born Feb. 27, 1921, to the late Bernard Sr. and Abigail Carrico Smith. He was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church, a retired farmer and an Army veteran serving three years in Germany during World War II where he received two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.

    William H. Borders, 82, Port St. Lucie, died Jan. 21, 2012, at Palm Gardens, Port St. Lucie. He was born in Springfield and lived in Port St. Lucie for 10 years, coming from the Florida Keys and Rhode Island. He served in the United States Navy. Before retiring, he was a truck driver for Teamsters Local No. 251 in Rhode Island and the Florida Keys for 45 years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann

    Seton Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, a third degree Knights of Columbus and a member of the American Legion Post 368 in Fort Pierce.

    Bill Graham, 82, Hodgenville, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home, Hodgenville.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Gracie Skaggs Graham.

    Survivors include two sons, Gary Graham, Hodgenville, and Larry Graham, Magnolia.

    The funeral will be 4 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Rust-Wright Funeral Home, 612 N. Lincoln Blvd., Hodgenville, with Pastor Faye Barnes officiating.

    Visitation is noon Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

    Mary Theresa Boone, 91, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. She was the former Mary Theresa Fields, a native of Marion County, and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, New Hope.  She was an active worker in the church for many years and had worked in food service at St. Vincent de Paul School.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Marion Ignatius Boone; a daughter, Ann Mattingly; her parents, Walter and Angie Cusick Fields; and two sisters, Anna B. White and Juanita White.

    Lillian Lunsford Cundiff, 84, Mount Washington, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East, Louisville. She was a retired employee of A & P Grocery, a member of Shively Baptist Church, and currently attended First Baptist Church of Mount Washington.

    She was preceded in death by her husbands, Russell O. Yates, Jr. and Raymond L. Cundiff;

    and her parents, Robert and Edna Shouse Lunsford.

    Gerald Tamme, 83, Lebanon Junction, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at his residence.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Pattie Tamme.

    Survivors include his wife, the former Mona Johnson; a son, Wayne Tamme, Pelzer, S.C., and a daughter, Connie Denny, Danville.

    Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Lebanon Junction, with burial in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville.

    Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Kappel Funeral Home, Lebanon Junction.

    Thelma Louise Logsdon Hoback, 82, Hodgenville, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayborn and Jenny Houchens Logsdon.

    Survivors include a son, Danny D. Hoback, Brooks; and two daughters, Teresa Snepp, Louisville, and Shelia Aubrey, Hodgenville.

    The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Rust-Wright Funeral Home, Hodgenville, with burial in Red Hill Cemetery, Hodgenville. The Rev. Greg Crenshaw, pastor of Vine Hill Baptist Church, will officiate.

    Cherri Ann Mudd Tudor, 52, Shelbyville, formerly of Bardstown, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. Born June 6, 1959, in Danville, she was a 1977 graduate of Bethlehem High School and a 1981 graduate of the University of Kentucky in 1981. She was a Kentucky Colonel, a former member and officer of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Louisville, and an avid UK fan.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen Tudor II, and a sister, Carol Frances Mudd.

    Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joyce Marie Thompson Boone; three sons, Kevin Boone, Bradfordsville, Timmy Boone and Neal Boone, both of New Haven; five daughters, Dianne Chesser, Lesia Hillard and Elaine Burba, Bardstown; Donna Salsman, Buffalo, and Janice Shipp, Campbellsville.
