BOYS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Eagles turn back Cards to snare first win

If it is true that it is necessary to crawl before walk, it can then be said Bethlehem coach Mike Deaton might look back on his team’s performance against Nelson County on Friday night and say they stood and took those baby steps towards becoming a better basketball team.

The Eagles put together their best 32 minutes of basketball so far and knocked off the Cardinals 61-51 to pick up their first win in five games.

Deaton said his team executed much better on both ends of the floor and did the little things necessary to improve to 1-4 (1-1 district).
