  • Hasn’t everyone heard the story of Dr. Seuss’s blundering elephant that saves the lives of countless citizens of Whoville? That civilization contained on a speck stuck to a clover? Even if you have, you’ll be charmed by this new animated film which fills in details which Dr. Seuss’s short, rhyming book omits.

  • Managing weeds throughout the growing season doesn’t have to be a losing battle if you start early and follow a few simple rules. NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. This year’s Oscar for Best Picture is an absorbing tale of greed and revenge with strong performances from Xavier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Tommy Lee Jones. The film is about Jones’ character and illustrates that there is a time in some persons’ lives when they should move on.

  • First, you have to realize that this film by Roland Emmerich is as close to history as one of his earlier films, “Independence Day.” “10,000 B.C.” has some exciting scenes, some interesting speculations about how prehistoric humankind advanced society, but it is never going to get the blessing of creationists. Multiple languages are spoken to simulate interaction of tribes, with subtitles for the non-English speakers.
