  • Engagement-Eriksen, Schram

    Dr. William and Sarah Eriksen, Elizabethtown, and Dr. Galin and Roberta Schram, Freeport, Ill., announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, Dr. Kellianne Eriksen to Dr. Nicklaus Schram.
    The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of John Hardin High School and attended the University of Louisville and then graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, in 2010 with a bachelor of science and doctorate of chiropractic degrees. She is currently working for Eriksen Chiropractic, Bardstown.

  • Tingles celebrate 25 years

    Roger and Sheila Tingle will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary April 25. They were married April 25, 1986, at Chaplin Baptist Church.
    They have three children, Jesseca Hawkins, Dusty Tingle and Drew Tingle and two grandchildren.

    Scott and Emily Smith, Bardstown, announce the birth of a daughter, Carlisle Victoria, March 8, 2011, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She weighed 9 pounds, 15 ounces and was 21 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Ann Peterson, Lebanon, and the late Vic Peterson.
    Paternal grandparents are Randy and Teresa Smith, Bardstown.

    Rebecca and Jay Volkert, Mackville, announce the birth of a son, Chase Durbin, March 16, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. He weighed 9 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20-1/2 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Kalvin and Patsy Durbin, Bardstown. Paternal grandparents are Jerry and Juanita Volkert, Woodlawn, Ill. Great-grandmother is Juanita Durbin.
    The baby was welcomed home by a sister, Ryleigh Lynn, 1.

    Brooke and Heath Routt, New Haven, announce the birth of a son, Hayden Reece, Jan. 18, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. He weighed 9 pounds, 8 ounces and was 21 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Charles and Mary Seward, New Haven. Paternal grandparents are Ray and Carol Routt, Hodgenville.

    Michael and Christiane Reinle, Bardstown, announce the birth of a son, Ethan Xavier, March 11, 2011, at Baptist East Hospital, Louisville. He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and was 18 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Ray and Margie Jury, Bardstown.
    Paternal grandparents are Wanda Reinle, Bardstown, and Larry Reinle, LaGrange.
    Great-grandparents are Edward and Jane Jury.
    The baby was welcomed home by three brothers, Isaac, 7, Benjamin, 4, and Zachary, 3.

    Dr. Joseph W. and Barbara D. Mattingly, Bardstown, announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Elizabeth Mattingly, to Kevin Donald Andrew, son of Tim Andrew, Lexington, and Tammy Hamm, Richmond.
    The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Bardstown High School, a 2005 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a major in psychology and a 2008 graduate of the University of Kentucky Graduate School with a specialist degree in school psychology. She is employed as a school psychologist for Bardstown City Schools.

    Don Randall and Betty Werner Clark, Bardstown, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Jean Clark, to William Felix Thompson, son of Diane Thompson and David Ballard, Bardstown, and the late Arnold Thompson.
    The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Bardstown High School, a 2002 graduate of the University of Louisville and a 2007 graduate of Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Science.
    She is employed as an assistant pharmacy manager at Wal-Mart Pharmacy, Bardstown.

  • Cecils celebrate 50 years

    Bill and Mary Alice Cecil, Bardstown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan, 7. They were married Jan. 7, 1961, at St. Thomas Church with the Rev, George O’Bryan officiating.
    They have six children, Joan Douglas, New Haven, Rod Cecil, Bardstown, Jeff Cecil, Cox’s Creek, John Cecil, Tenn., and Angie Reid and Cindy Derringer, both of Bardstown; and 13 grandchildren.
    A Mass will be at 1 p.m. May 14 at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with a reception following at KC Hall.
    All friends and relatives are invited.

  • Portmans celebrate 50 years

    Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Patrick Portman, Bardstown,  celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 15.
    Mrs. Portman is the former Shirley Faye Nally, Loretto.  They were married at Holy Cross Church April 15, 1961.  
    They have three children, Joe Portman, Suzanne Farnsworth and Faye Brussell; and seven grandchildren.
    A party with family and friends took place April 9 in their honor at The Loft in Bardstown.
