  • Birth: Mahoney

    Micah Mahoney, 5, of Bardstown, announces the birth of a sister, Sophie Nicole Mahoney. She was born June 16 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs., 4 oz., and was 19 in. long.

    Parents are Stephanie and Michael Mahoney, of New Haven. 

    Grandparents are Tina and Kenny McWaters, of Buffalo and Louisville and June and Jerry Mahoney, of New Haven.

    Sophie was also welcomed by a sister, Bailey, 24. 

  • Birth: Blackmon

    Lindsay and Josh Blackmon, of Bardstown, announce the birth of a daughter, Charlotte Elizabeth Blackmon. She was born Aug. 13 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was 8 lbs., 7 oz. and 21.5 in. longs.

    Grandparents are Stan and Melinda Block and Bob and Cara Blackmon, all of Bardstown.

    Great-grandmother is Sara Chumbler of Bardstown.

    Charlotte was welcomed by a sister, Lydia, 2. 

  • Birth: Hicks

    Jessica and Dr. David Hicks,of Bardstown announce the birth of a son, Carson Joseph Hicks. He was born July 18 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was 8 lbs., 8 oz. and 21 inches long.

    Grandparents are Mary and Joseph Greenwell and Ellen and Larry Hicks, all of Bardstown.

    Great-grandparents are Iva Jean Mackin, of Cox’s Creek, Joan Brown, of Bardstown, and Adolph Hicks, of Bardstown.

    Carson was welcomed by a sister, Gracie, 1.

    Kevin and Andrea Yates, of Bardstown announce the birth of a daughter, Hailey Michelle. She was born June 11 at Baptist Hospital East. She weighed 7 lbs., 6 oz.  

    Grandparents are the late Ronald Adams, and Diane Adams, of Loretto, and Wesley and Kathy Yates, of Bloomfield.

    Hailey was welcomed by a sister Katie, 7, and a brother, Raylen, 1.

    Hannah Ryan and Joseph Lawson, of Bardstown announce the birth of a daughter, Raeleigh Jo Lawson. She was born July 4 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She weighed 6 lbs., 6 oz. and was 19.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are the late Thomas Ryan, Dana and Joey Smith, of Bardstown, Tonya and Phillip Clarkson, of Lebanon, and Steven Lawson, of Bardstown.

  • Wedding: Ballard

    Anthony and Laurinda Sidebottom, of New Haven, announce the marriage of their daughter, Laura Sidebottom, to Chad Ballard, son of Gary and Mary Ballard, of Bardstown.

    They were married at 6 p.m. May 10, 2014, at Stone Creek Farm in Bardstown.

    Brother Mike Fenwick officiated the ceremony.

    The wedding was peacock themed with burlap and lace decorations and the colors were purple and teal.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father, Anthony Sidebottom.

  • Wedding: Bard-Kersting

    Douglas and Theresa Bard, of Bardstown, announce the marriage of their daughter, Lacey A. Bard to Henry R. Kersting, son of Elizabeth Solomon, of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Michael Kersting, of Marsfield, Ga.

    They were married at 6 p.m. April 17, 2014, at Captains Quarters in Prospect.

    Capt. Todd Kerger officiated the ceremony.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father, Douglas R. Bard.

    BHS class of 1979

    The Bardstown High School Class of 1979 will have a 35th class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Bernheim. The class will gather at the Art Barn near the Bernheim Education Center noon-4 p.m. All non-Bernheim members will have to pay the $5 admission fee into Bernheim.   • Old Kentucky Home Post donates to causes

    American Legion Post 121, Old Kentucky Home Chapter, recently donated $2,050 to the Operation Comfort Warriors, which works through the VA hospital to help veterans with needed items the VA does not cover. The funds were raised from the management and patrons of Kroger, Dollar General Market and Peebles on the July 4th weekend. Hobbs Baptist Church also made a significant donation.
