    It is the best of times; it is the worst of times. It is back to school time in all of Nelson County! For the administrators, teachers and students it may not be the best of times, but for the parents it may be the best of times. Either way there is a touch of bittersweet when it comes to returning for the new school year and the fall semester.

    Fairfield 2nd Baptist Women’s Day

     

    Second Baptist Church will have its annual Women’s Day Celebration Sunday, August 28. The Minister Vanessa Skillon of Coke Memorial United Methodist Church in Louisville is the guest. Sunday School starts at 10 a.m. and Sunday Services at 11 a.m. Dinner will be served after the service.  For further information, call (502) 252-8491.

  • First Baptist Church announces renovation

    The First Baptist Church of Bardstown announces the renovation project of the historic Church for the new Reverend Roy Henry Educational Center. The Reverend Roy Henry Educational Center is a facility that will breathe new life into the original sanctuary that dates back to 1812, and will provide the Bardstown and Nelson County community an educational center for children and adult residents along with other exciting opportunities.

    Fairfield Second Baptist Church, Youth/Teen Choir will have an Anniversary Youth Jam July 30. Performances from local community churches with a special guest: “Words of “Inspiration” by Virgil Livers Jr., former Chicago Bears football player, at 4 p.m.  Everyone is welcome.

    How fast summer flies. Why is it that the three summer months turn into a blur, while winter drags on for weeks? This is another one of those questions for which there may be no answer. We all want answers — especially when the questions affect us personally:  “How will the economy affect me?” “What does the future look like?” We all want to know the score of the game before it’s over.
