  • An ordinary man with an extraordinary mission

    By Billy Holland

Like many of you, I’m very sad about Billy Graham passing away. Those who are younger will probably not have the familiar connection with him like some of us older folks, but nonetheless, I’m sure his books and recordings will continue having a beneficial impact on future generations.

  • Is the road to salvation confusing?

    By Larry J. Shoemaker

“It’s just your interpretation!” “The Bible contradicts itself!” “I know in my heart that I’m saved!” I’m comfortable with my religion!” “You have your opinion, I have mine!”

  • Are you trusting others to tell you what the Bible says?

    Larry J. Shoemaker

Many preachers claim they were “called” to preach. Paul was called to be an apostle and Christians are called to be saints (1 Cor. 1:1, 2), but where does the Bible speak of a “call?” Does God call a man to be a preacher in a special, or miraculous, way?

  • As far as the east is from the west

    By Billy Holland

Someone said, “Our lives are defined by opportunities, including the ones we miss. Let us not weep over chances we have missed, but rather for the ones we did not take.”

When I look back over my life, I can see where I’ve made plenty of mistakes and I’ve also missed out on some wonderful opportunities. Maybe you are saying the same thing. If so, I encourage you to resist the temptation to live in regret.

  • God’s love makes everyone unique

    By Billy Holland

I’ve mentioned before about how most small towns have unusual characters who are disrespected and mocked as an embarrassment to the community. Like folklore legends, these outcast individuals are remembered for their strange behavior while it’s hardly ever mentioned about who they really are.
