Cursive writing has been a dying practice in schools in recent years, and while its requirement was recently drafted in a revision to Kentucky’s academic standards, one local private school is looking to boost interest in the penmanship style.

Unitas Honor Academy is hosting a Cursive Camp July 16-19 for first-time cursive writers and those looking to define their penmanship skills.

“We knew we wanted to do it for our students (as a refresher), but we wanted to open it up to the community as well,” said Andrea Hutchins, a founder of the Academy.
