Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon on Loretto Road.

According to a press release from the Nelson County Sheriff's Office, emergency personnel responded to the crash just before 3 p.m. where they found a 2005 Ford Escape driven by 22-year-old Jabari Jones, of Bardstown, had lost control for unknown reasons and collided with a 2000 Ford pickup driven by 39-year-old Cristina Espinoza, of Louisville, who was traveling in the opposite lane.

Both Jones and his passenger, who deputies did not identify, were injured in the collision. Jones had to be extricated from the vehicle and flown from the scene by Air Methods to University of Louisville Hospital.
