Three injured in rollover crash

Three people were injured in an early morning rollover crash on the Bluegrass Parkway Thursday.

According to a collision report from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, A 1998 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Renata Penman, 34, of Willisburg, was traveling west on the parkway near the 28-mile marker when it traveled into the median, ran over a concrete culvert, traveled back into the roadway, and crossed both lanes of traffic. The vehicle then struck an earth embankment and overturned, coming to a rest on its top in the emergency lane.

The accident occurred just after 1:30 a.m.

Penman suffered neck and back injuries. Two passengers in the vehicle were also injured and the vehicle was severely damaged.

According to the release, seat belts were in use.
