Two Bardstown women were arrested recently after officers discovered drugs in a home with a minor.

The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force, which has been pursuing drug crime in the area, visited an apartment at 111 E. O’Bryan Avenue July 20, according to arrest records. While there, officers performed a search of the home where they discovered suspected methamphetamine packed for sale, a glass pipe containing suspected marijuana and a syringe concealed in a purse in the bedroom closet.

Upon searching a second violator, the citation states, the woman was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana on her person and an additional search found several needles within reach of the woman’s 1-year-old child. The woman told officers the needles were for methamphetamine.

The two women, Anna Sue Castleman, 23, and resident Shelby M. Centers, 23, were arrested on drug-related charges.

Castleman was charged with first-degree trafficking in controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Centers was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor.
