STRAIGHT ARROW: The last day of turkey season

Straight Arrow

By Gene Culver

My son Eric finally got his second gobbler on Friday morning. Eric had the day off to spend with the family, but could get out to hunt until about 9 a.m., when the girls would be up and ready to get going.

Eric knew it was going to be raining, and when we had talked about his plan to hunt Friday morning, I had loaned him my Frogg Toggs rain gear. He could wear his base layers, then the Frogg Toggs, which are a tan color, and then add his leafy camo suit. He could stay warm, dry and well-camouflaged by layering this way.
