Preteen girl injured in Monday morning vehicle accident

A 12-year-old girl was listed in stable condition following a vehicle accident Monday morning according to a press release from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office.

According to police, Thomas Lynch, of Springfield, was traveling northbound on KY. 55 at about 7:10 a.m. when Lynch came upon an ATV parked in the roadway. Lynch swerved to avoid hitting the ATV and then hit a 12-year-old girl who was standing in the ditch line.

The girl was transported to Kosair Children’s Hospital and was listed in stable condition as of Monday morning. The girl’s name was not immediately available. Sgt. Mike Clark of the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident.
