Ohio woman found in Nelson Wednesday with stolen vehicle

An Akron, Ohio, woman was arrested in Nelson County early Wednesday morning and is accused of possessing a stolen vehicle.

Nelson County sheriff’s deputies received a call just before 4 a.m. about a possible stolen vehicle sitting on the side of New Haven Road in the 4600 block. When they arrived on scene, the deputies found Shannon Denise Odum, 36, next to a 2003 silver Jaguar with its flashers on. Odum had the keys to the vehicle in her front pocket. A search in NCIC confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Odum was arrested and charged with one count of receiving stolen property under $10,000, which is a felony.

Odum has an arraignment scheduled for Friday morning.
