New Haven man injured in Friday morning crash on Balltown Road

An 18-year-old New Haven man was injured in a crash on Balltown Road early Friday morning.

According to a press release from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the area of 2922 Balltown Road at 6:35 a.m. Friday on report of an injury accident with vehicle fire. On the scene, first-responders found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames, but the driver, James Hall, was outside of the vehicle. EMS transported Hall to Flaget Memorial Hospital for injuries.

The New Hope Fire Department responded to the scene to extinguish the vehicle fire, which was a total loss. The fire had also spread to a Salt River utility pole and Salt River personnel advised they would repair the pole on Monday, according to the release.

Lt. Kaelen Matthews is investigating the collision.
