Nelson County Schools hosting public forum Thursday

-A A +A

Community survey closes Dec. 8

Those wishing to be part of the selection process for Nelson County Schools’ next superintendent can do so by attending a public forum at 6 p.m. Thursday at Nelson County High School. The public forum is part of a timeline established by the Nelson County Schools Board of Education in the district’s search and selection for a new superintendent following the resignation of Anthony Orr.

Community members are encouraged to attend to share input on what they are looking for in Nelson County’s next district leader. According to the timeline, the district anticipates having a new superintendent named by April, and the application process opens in January. Comments from Thursday’s forum will be collected and used as the board considers candidates.

The forum will take place at Nelson County High School, 1070 Bloomfield Road in Bardstown, and will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

In addition to the forum, an online community survey runs until Dec. 8 and will also collect information to be used when considering candidates for superintendent. That survey can be accessed directly through the link http://bit.ly/2Ac4ywS or by visiting the district’s website, nelson.kyschools.us.
