Three sent to hospital

A motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon caused a chain reaction that sent three people to the hospital.

At around 1:18 p.m. Nelson County Sheriff's Deputies and Nelson County EMS responded to Taylorsville Road about a mile north of Bloomfield report of accidents involving a large group of motorcycles traveling through the area.

According to a press release from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, the group were south bound on a benefit ride when a motorcycle driven by 64-year-old Noel Cissel Jr., left the roadway while coming around a curve. The event contributed to a second accident as several bikes stopped to assist Cissel Jr. Audrey Walker, 52, of Bardstown and William Davis, 59, of Carrolton, navigated the curve and moved into the northbound lane to avoid the stopped bikes. Walker turned left into a gravel drive and Davis struck her bike.

Walker, Davis and Davis’ passenger Shirley Davis, 47, were taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The accidents had traffic stopped both ways for a short time.
