Elvin JuJuan Jenkins, 33, Bardstown, was indicted for 20 counts of first-degree sodomy, a class B felony, in Nelson Circuit Court Wednesday.

According to the indictment, Jenkins engaged in deviate sexual intercourse with another person by use of forcible compulsion sometime between July 30, 2010, and April 22.

The alleged victim was a 12-year-old female, according to Bardstown Police Detective Barbara Roby. However, it is unclear from the indictment if there was a single alleged victim or multiple victims.

According to KRS 510.070, first-degree sodomy, “is a Class B felony unless the victim is under twelve (12) years old or receives a serious physical injury in which case it is a Class A felony.”

Bail was set at $200,000 cash only, plus conditions.

The indictment of a person by a grand jury or otherwise is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
