A Bloomfield man was arrested Sunday after allegedly firing shots into an apartment complex.

Nelson County Sheriff’s Deputy Dennis Wells and Sergeant Kaelen Matthews responded to the shots fired call at 1107 Bloomfield Road early Sunday morning

According to a press release, the officers spoke with residents of the apartment and it was discovered that the man, later identified as 23-year-old Lavon N. Moody, had reportedly fired a handgun once into the apartment after threatening and mincing one of the residents who stepped into the doorway. Four other individuals were inside.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Moody had reportedly stolen a vehicle at a separate location.

Moody was later apprehended at his residence and charged with five counts first-degree wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening, menacing and theft of a motor vehicle. The stolen vehicle was released, undamaged.
