Escaped inmate captured

UPDATED 11:05 a.m.: Michael Shane Hunter, who escaped Sunday night from a jail in western Kentucky, was recaptured and jailed Tuesdayin the Hardin County Detention Center. He was arrested by Kentucky State Police in Radcliff.

Kentucky State Police are searching for an inmate that may be headed toward the Hardin or Nelson County area.

According to KSP, police were contacted by the Fulton County Detention Center in Hickman and advised that an inmate had walked out of the sally port of the jail while on work detail.

Michael Shane Hunter, of Guston, is described as a 40-year-old white male, 5’7’’ with short brown hair and hazel or green eyes.

Hunter was last seen wearing a black zip-up hoodie style sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a tan hat at the time of his escape.

Hunter has a small outline tattoo of praying hands on the right side of his back, and an outline tattoo of a sun on his upper left arm.

He is serving time for theft by failure to make required disposition of property, first-degree fleeing or evading police and flagrant non-support.

His escape was reported to KSP at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.  

According to Kentucky Online Offender Lookup, alias names for Michael Hunter include Shane Hunter and Riccole Lashawn Baker.
