Car crashes into Heaven Hill warehouse

Driver entrapped, injured

A New Hope man was injured Saturday evening after crashing into a bourbon warehouse on Loretto Road.

At around 5 p.m., Nelson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of an injury accident near Heaven Hill Distillery. Upon arriving, deputies located a single vehicle accident with an occupant entrapped inside the car.

The driver, identified as Paul E. Edlin, 41, was traveling south on Loretto Road when he exited the roadway, striking the warehouse.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Edlin had to be mechanically freed from the vehicle by Nelson County Fire & Rescue and was transported by Nelson County EMS to Flaget Memorial Hospital.
Air Methods later flew Edlin to University of Louisville Hospital due to the extent of his injuries.

Sgt. Michael Clark of the Nelson County Sherriff’s investigated the incident
