Kentucky is the only state where it’s legal to promote dog fighting — though the sport itself is a crime.
The law would be strengthened, however, if the General Assembly passes a bill this session to make it a Class D felony to knowingly own, possess, keep, breed, train, sell or transfer a dog for the purpose of the dog or its offspring “being used to fight for pleasure or profit.”
