He was a native of Nelson County, a retired superintendent of Bloomfield Public Works Department, he was the mayor of Bloomfield 1982-March 1985, he was a 35-year member of Northeast Nelson Fire Department and served on the Board of Directors, he also served on the Bloomfield Park Board, he was retired as a staff sergeant after 13 years of service with the Kentucky National Guard Battery C 2nd Howitzer Battallion 138 artillery, he was a member of St.
