Bardstown woman arrested and charged with trafficking in controlled substance

One Bardstown woman was put behind bars after being arrested and charged with various drug-related offenses.

According to a press release from the Bardstown Police Department, at about 12:39 p.m. Thursday, Billie J. Aldridge, 44, was arrested following a traffic stop on North Second Street.

Officer Kyler Wright conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 Mitsubishi passenger car after observing the driver not wearing a seatbelt. As Wright approached the vehicle, both occupants appeared to be very nervous. Consent to search the vehicle was requested and denied. Officer Wright’s K9 was deployed and indicated on the vehicle.

The passenger of the vehicle, Aldridge, had three active arrest warrants at the time and was arrested. A subsequent search of her belongings revealed a small container with suspected methamphetamine, several loose pills, an undetermined small amount of cash and a cellophane wrapper containing an unknown controlled substance in a solid rock-like form. Aldridge also had a bag of marijuana on her person.

Aldridge was arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail and charged with the three arrest warrants, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and trafficking controlled substance (methamphetamine).

The driver of the vehicle, Brittny B. Sharpe, 19, of Shepherdsville was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.
