One other considering leaving

By Randy Patrick

Bardstown Police Chief Steve Uram confirmed Tuesday that his department is losing another police officer.

Sgt. Kyler Wright, a K-9 officer and night-shift sergeant, has tendered his resignation effective May 1.

Wright is going to the Kentucky State Police Academy in Frankfort to become a state trooper, Uram said.

“He needs to go where he wants his career to go,” Uram commented.

The Standard left a phone message for Wright with another officer, who said he would ask him to call right after his lunch break, but Uram called instead.
