The status of suspended Bardstown Police Officer Nick Houck could be decided as early as Friday.

Bardstown City Attorney Tim Butler confirmed in an interview with The Kentucky Standard that an administrative hearing was held Thursday concerning the status of Houck, with a decision being made “within the next short period of time.”

“Hopefully as early as tomorrow,” Butler said Thursday, adding that a press gathering will likely be held when the decision is made.

Bardstown Mayor John Royalty was present for the hearing.

Butler said the meeting lasted from about 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with about a 10-minute break.

Houck has been suspended without pay since Sept. 24 and was initially suspended with pay beginning on Sept. 9. Houck was hired and sworn in on Sept. 25, 2006.

Houck is the brother of Brooks Houck, who was the live-in boyfriend of Crystal Rogers, a missing Bardstown mother of five who was reportedly last seen July 3.
