A Bardstown man was sentenced to five years in prison with no probation after an assault involving a baseball bat.

Corey W. Bogard, 19, entered a plea agreement in December, which dismissed charges of burglary, imprisonment and terroristic threatening. Per the agreement, Bogard received five years for four counts of complicity to first-degree wanton endangerment and five years for one count of assault under extreme emotional disturbance. The assault charge was amended down from complicity to first-degree assault, which could have carried a 10-20 year sentence.
