    Competitive soccer tryouts

    On Sunday, Nov. 6, at Dean Watts Park, Coach Kelly Harrison will be hosting tryouts for his Nelson Elite boys’ squads. Tryouts for the U19 squad, which is ranked No. 1 in Kentucky, are 1-2:30 p.m. The U16 team will have tryouts 2:30-4 p.m. Call (502) 794-7648 with questions.

    Meet the Lady Generals

    The Thomas Nelson girls’ basketball team is hosting its third annual “Meet The Lady Generals” night at the high school on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. The event includes a dinner, silent auction and intrasquad scrimmage. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance from team members or at the gate. For more information, call 827-0624.

    Mud volleyball tourney

    In conjunction with the Culvertown Homecoming celebration, the Culvertown Ballpark is hosting a co-ed mud volleyball tournament Saturday. Cost is $50 per team. Signups start at 1 p.m., with play beginning at 1:30. Call 549-3451 for more information.

    The Thomas Nelson cheerleaders will be hosting their fifth annual cheer clinic on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m.-noon. Participants will also be cheering the first half of the Thomas Nelson home football game on Friday, Sept. 30. Cost is $30 per participant and includes a T-shirt. For forms and information, contact Thomas Nelson High School at 349-4650 or Jennifer at (502) 644-1496.

    BCC hosts scramble
    Bardstown Country Club at Maywood will host the Drive 4 Sight golf scramble Friday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation.     FIT event

    The second annual Fastest in Town (FIT) event will be Saturday, Aug. 27, beginning at 10 a.m. Participants between the ages of 3-12 are invited to participate in a 60-yard dash with others who are their age and gender. FIT is taking place at the Bardstown High School Track. Pre-register for $12 per individual or $15 at the gate beginning at 7 a.m. the morning of the event. To register, call 331-8808. The event is sponsored by the Family Resource and Youth Services Centers.
