    KofC FT challenge

    The Knights of Columbus will have its 2015 Free Throw Championship at 1 p.m. today in the Bethlehem High School gym. The competition is open to boys and girls ages 9 to 14. Please arrive 30 minutes before the starting time to register. Any questions, call Jim Hourigan at 460-3293.

    All boys ages 8-13 are invited to participate in the annual Optimist Tri-Star Basketball Competition on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Bardstown Recreation Center.

    Registration for the Nelson County Little League 2015 softball and baseball season is open through Feb. 28. There is a $10 late registration fee applied after Feb. 28.     Nelson Elite U18 tryouts

    Tryouts for Nelson Elite U18 boys soccer team will be held this Sunday, Jan. 4, at Dean Watts Park. Tryouts will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Team will participate in the spring 2015 KSSL season and will be coached by Ronnie Hatfield. Any questions, call (502) 510- 3592.

    The Bardstown boys’ and girls’ basketball teams are hosting a Donkey Basketball fundraiser on Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. in the gymnasium. Special guest is former University of Kentucky and NBA player Derek Anderson. Advance tickets are $8 and $10 at the door. Contact Coach Brewer or Coach Courtney for tickets at Bardstown High School at 331-8802.

    TNHS Wrestling scrimmage

    The Thomas Nelson wrestling team is hosting its inaugural Navy-Grey

    Scrimmage at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free, and there will be a rules clinic to teach the community about the sport. Team members will be introduced and there will be some wrestle-offs for varsity positions in the various weight divisions.
