    Kickball marathon

    The Culvertown Ballpark will host a kickball marathon Aug. 1, with play starting on two fields at 7 p.m. Entry fee is $50 per team. Call 549-3451 with questions.

     

    Softball marathon

    There is a softball marathon Aug. 15-16 at the Culvertown Ballpark. Cost is $150 per team. No home run limit. Call 549-3451 for more information.

    NC volleyball tryouts
    The Nelson County High School volleyball team is hosting tryouts July 15. Tryouts are 1-2:30 p.m. for incoming freshman and 2-4 p.m. for returning players and upperclassmen. Players must have proof of a current physical. Call 249-0144 with questions.

    Thomas Nelson volleyball will have open gyms on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7 p.m. leading up to tryouts on July 15. There are mandatory practices July 16, as well as a parents’ meeting. Call 349-4650 with questions.

    The Central Kentucky Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Foundation is hosting a catfish roundup for kids from 7 a.m. - noon Saturday at the Boone Farms in New Hope. Registration is open to kids 16 and younger, and all expenses are paid, including lunch. Anglers should bring their own poles and chairs.
