    The Nelson County Youth Soccer Association is taking registrations for the Spring 2017 season until Jan. 31. Register online at nelsoncountysoccerclub.com.

    Boys’ Tri-Star competition

    The annual Optimist Tri-Star Basketball competition for boys ages 8-13 (as of March 15) will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Bardstown Recreation Center gym. Trophies will be presented to first, second and third in each age group, and the winner of each age group advances to the district contest in February. The event is free, but a parent or guardian must sign the registration form. A copy of a birth certificate is also required. For more information, call 510-1101.

    The Knights of Columbus Bardstown Council 1290 is sponsoring a free-throw shooting contest at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Bethlehem High School gymnasium. No entry fee is required and walkup registration is available. The contest is open to all boys and girls in Nelson County ages 9-14, and winners can advance to district, regional and state competition. Call 331-9223 for more information or to register.

    Bethlehem hoops intrasquad scrimmage

    The Bethlehem boys’ and girls’ basketball teams are hosting a “Soar With The Eagles and Banshees” night Saturday, Nov. 26, at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes all-you-can-eat chili and a silent auction, as well as the Banshees’ and Eagles’ intrasquad scrimmages. Several door prizes are available, including UK and U of L tickets, and a Makita Skill Saw. Call 348-8594 for more information.

    Donkey basketball

    The Bardstown Tigers boys’ and girls’ basketball teams are host a donkey basketball fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the BHS gymnasium. Cost is $10 in advance and $12 at the door; kids 6 years old and under get in free.
