Bardstown's L.J. Cowherd flashes a No. 12 sign as the horn sounds on the Tigers' 56-52 win over Bethlehem in Saturday's 19th District championship. Cowherd was wearing the No. 12 jersey instead of his usual No. 30 in honor of fallen teammate Tavris Slaughter, who suffered a frightening-looking leg injury in warmups before the game and had to be taken to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.
BOYS' 19th DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP: Tigers hold off Eagles' comeback

Quindon Litsey got a steal then drained a pair of clutch free throws with 1.9 seconds left Friday, sealing up a 56-52 victory over Bethlehem to give Bardstown a second straight 19th District crown and fourth in the past five years.

The Tigers (19-10) led by as many as 11 in the first half and eight in the second half, but the Eagles (17-11) managed to rally back and take the lead on two separate occasions in the second half.
