  • SPORTS NOTES: June 17, 2016
    Soccer camp The Underground Soccer Training Academy and St. Thomas Parish are sponsoring the USTA Summer Soccer Day Camp on Saturday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost for the camp is $30 and all participants will receive a T-shirt and lunch on site. Camp will feature mobility training, technical training, tactical training, and a soccer challenge course. Kelly Harrison will head the day camp.   • COMMUNITY SPORTS: Flaget fundraiser scramble set for June 24
    The Flaget Memorial Hospital Foundation will host its fourth annual golf scramble on Friday, June 24, at Bardstown Country Club at Maywood. Both corporate and individual registrations are now available for the event. The annual tournament has seen tremendous growth over the years. Last year, the golf scramble raised more than $36,000 to support mission and outreach programs at Flaget Memorial Hospital. Philanthropic partnerships with the community allow the hospital to continue its mission of providing the finest healthcare and most advanced technology available.

    During his time wearing the purple and gold, Keaton Hall was the consummate Bardstown High School athlete, lettering in four sports.
  • COMMUNITY SPORTS: Meredith wins gold in Atlanta
    Madeline Meredith, the 11-year-old daughter of Andy Meredith and Whitney Meredith, competed at the Eastern Sectional Zone Age Group Swimming Championships March 10-13 in Atlanta. Meredith medaled in five events, winning gold in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 27.27, which set a new meet record. Competing against 285 swimmers in the 11-12 age division, Meredith finished ninth overall for a high point swimmer. She finished fifth place against 11-year-old competition.
  • SPORTS NOTES: Dec. 30, 2015
    The annual youth free-throw shooting contest sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Bardstown Council 1290 is set for 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at Bethlehem High School. The contest is open to boys and girls in Nelson County ages 9-14, with divisional winners progressing to district, regional and state competition. Call 331-9223 for more information.
