  • BLUEGRASS SPEEDWAY: Track's future uncertain

    At the conclusion of the 2011 Bluegrass Speedway Championship Awards Celebration Sunday, David and Anita Ferrell officially announced that they would not be returning as track promoters for 2012.

  • BLUEGRASS SPEEDWAY: Track to honor its top racers Oct. 30

    Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell have completed their 12th season at the half-mile, high-banked clay oval located just outside beautiful and historic Bardstown and would like to thank all patrons for their support during the 2011 racing season, even with the track suffering a record eight rainouts over the course of the season.      

  • AUTO RACING: BG Speedway wraps up season

    Bluegrass Speedway finished out a rainy 2011 Saturday, highlighted by Dustin Neat, Dunnville, winning the last race in the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Model division.

    Also finding the finish line were Avral Thompson, Loretto, in Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman, Michael England, Glasgow, in Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds, and Mike Bailey, Clarksville, Ind., in UMP Street Stocks.

  • BLUEGRASS SPEEDWAY: Season finale Saturday

    Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell are set to close out the 2011 racing campaign at Bluegrass Speedway Saturday as the Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman division will race for $400 to win, along with a full program of  action in all other divisions at the half-mile high-banked clay oval located just outside beautiful and historic Bardstown.      

  • BLUEGRASS SPEEDWAY: Barber best in BG Rumble

    The American Modified Series  concluded its 2011 tour on Saturday  with the 11th Annual Bluegrass Rumble and Bryan Barber, Greensburg, took the win and the $1,500 payday. 

    Other feature event winners included Jeff Watson, Campbellsville, in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Scott Beeler, Louisville, in the $300 to win special for the UMP Street Stocks, and Danny Blackwell, Taylorsville, in Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman.

  • BLUEGRASS SPEEDWAY: Track dark Saturday

    With the track’s biggest event of the year now a memory, Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will have the gates closed on Saturday for the Labor Day holiday and Sept. 10 for the World 100, but will return to action Sept. 17 as the American Modified Series will return for what is currently set to be their series finale, the 11th Annual Bluegrass Rumble, paying $1,500 to win for UMP Modifieds.    

  • BLUEGRASS SPEEDWAY: O'Neal captures Bluegrass Classic

    Don O’Neal is making a habit of big performances at Bluegrass Speedway, and Saturday’s 11th-annual Bluegrass Classic was no exception as the Martinsville, Ind., native captured his second consecutive and third overall win in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event.

    The Bluegrass Classic, at 50 laps for $10,000-to-win, is Bluegrass Speedway’s signature event.

    Other feature event winners for the evening included Avral Thompson, Loretto, in Clayton Homes UMP Sportsman and Mike Bailey, Clarksville, Ind., in UMP Street Stocks.

     

  • Lucas Oil Late Model series at Speedway

    Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will return to action at the half-mile high-banked Nelson County clay oval Saturday for the track’s signature event, the 11th Annual Cornett Racing Engines Bluegrass Classic, featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) in a 50-lap, $10,000 to win main event.

  • BLUEGRASS SPEEDWAY: Rain strikes again at Speedway; track dark Saturday

    It was First Place Track Points Night at Bluegrass Speedway on Saturday evening, but for the eighth time this race season, Mother Nature intervened as rain showers began falling just as the drivers’ meeting was concluding. The showers persisted, along with lots of thunder and lightning that knocked out electricity for around 30 minutes. 

  • BLUEGRASS SPEEDWAY: First-place track points for all divisions

    Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will have a First Place Track Points night for all divisions Saturday. 

    For all divisions, all entries that are signed in for the night’s racing action will receive first place track points and the car and driver must be signed to receive first place track points.
