YOUTH SPORTS: Teaching kids fundamentals stops bad habits

There used to be a prevailing wisdom that it’s not a good idea to get kids involved in an athletic training program too early. However, with children participating in sports at earlier and earlier ages, a lot of that thinking has gone out the window.

“Kids actually start these movements, some as early as 3-4 years old,” said Josh Payne, a certified personal trainer and youth exercise specialist.
