Heavy rains moved through Springfield and the surrounding area shortly before the scheduled 5:30 p.m. start time of the 19th District softball and baseball championships Wednesday, at first delaying and then eventually postponing both games until that same time Thursday.

In both cases, Bethlehem and Nelson County will face off for the third time this season after splitting regular-season meetings, turning the softball and baseball district finals into rubber matches at Washington County’s Idle Hour Park.
