  • Illegal Immigration needs to addressed

    To the editor:

  • Start talking about bringing soldiers home

    To the editor:

Well, as long as people continue to say some of the darndest things, I guess I will be compelled to respond. There are articles repeated that I am sick to death of reading, such as the one printed Friday, Nov. 9, 2007 titled, “Support soldiers on Veterans Day and every day.” While the title has a very beautiful sentiment, the article does not.

  • Mill Creek Baptist grateful for community support

    To the editor:

  • McConnell ads are questionable

    To the editor:

I have seen the Mitch McConnell commercial equating himself to the Democrat Alben Barkley.

Why doesn’t he associate himself with Bush and his policies, which he has supported from day one.

He supports everything the corporations and Bush want. Where are the wants of Kentuckians and the people of America?

If Senator McConnell thinks the Democrats are better, why is he opposed to them?

  • There should never be blanket endorsements

    To the editor:

  • It's time America rethinks its foreign trade policy

    To the editor:

Many American brands have been moved out of the country. Such products as Maytag appliances, Levi’s blue jeans and Singer sewing machines, which were recognized as the world’s best, American designed and made by union workers, are now being produced in part or entirely by low-wage workers in foreign countries.

  • Turkey Kick participants say good-bye this year

    To the editor:

Due to a difference of opinion with some of the other participants in the Turkey Kick, the Board of The Nelson County Association for the Handicapped has voted to cancel our participation in the event immediately.

Thank you for all your support in the past.

  • Look at reason immigrants come to U.S.

    To the editor:

It has saddened us greatly to learn of the attitude of some of our government officials regarding immigrants in our community. The debate about the services they absorb from our resources seems to ignore the services they contribute.

The face of Louisville has changed during the past 20 years. We would like to think that the multiculturalism that is becoming part of us could be seen as the blessing that it truly is rather than a sponge that soaks up all of our resources.
