  • Semi overturns Tuesday on BG

    First responders were called to the Bluegrass Parkway around 9 a.m. Tuesday on report of an overturned semi with entrapment near the 15 mile marker.

    The semi had completely overturned in the median and wooden planks were scattered near the wreckage. A lane on each side of the parkway was closed as crews worked to upright the vehicle.

    Details on what led to the accident and the condition of those involved are not available at this time.

  • Man arrested for stealing from Thai Summit job site

    When officers were called to Maywood Chevron Tuesday night on a report of a suspicious vehicle, it wasn’t difficult to spot the car.

    A car parked partially in a handicap space just outside the store had long copper pipes sticking out of the windows from each side. Inside the car various tools, including more than a dozen drills, were also found.

  • Wilson Motel employee accused of theft

    Charges have been filed against the property manager of Wilson Motel after the owner noticed a shortage with the establishment’s account.

    According to a criminal complaint filed in Nelson Circuit Court last Friday, Jessica Thomas is charged with theft by unlawful $500 or more but under $10,000.

  • Request made to revoke probation in sexual matter case

    A Bloomfield man who received probation late last year for a sex crime case was arrested recently for violating conditions of his probation.

    According to a report from the Division of Probation and Parole filed Wednesday in the case against David Drahos, the 35-year-old violated a number of the strict conditions imposed on him.

  • Man accused of smoking meth with teens charged with rape

    A man accused of smoking meth with teenage girls was indicted Wednesday on first-degree rape charges as well as drug-related charges.

    According to criminal complaints previously filed in the case against Jason Young, 29, the Hodgenville man was accused of meeting up with at least one 15-year-old girl on more than one occasion and smoking crystal meth.

    Young was arrested Feb. 19 and at the time only faced drug-related charges, though investigators said more charges could be possible.
