Flaget Memorial Hospital, Saint Joseph Hospital, Saint Joseph East, Saint Joseph-Berea, Saint Joseph-London, Saint Joseph-Mount Sterling, and Saint Joseph-Martin have been recognized for service excellence under the J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Hospital Program. This distinction acknowledges a strong commitment by these hospitals to provide an outstanding inpatient experience.

Much of what the Lincoln Trail District Health Department does is behind the scenes. The individual county health departments are more familiar to people. But the district department makes many services offered at the county level possible.

“We centralize and send out,” said Linda Sims, LTDHD director and Kentucky Health Department Association president.

All people with types 1 and 2 diabetes, are at risk for developing diabetic eye disease — a group of eye diseases caused by diabetes, including diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and glaucoma. All can cause severe vision loss or even blindness, but early detection and treatment can help prevent further eye damage and future vision loss.
