  • Woman accused of felony assault

    A New Haven woman was arrested Thursday on a felony second-degree assault charge and was arraigned in court Friday morning with a $10,000 bond.

    In a complaint filed by reporting officer K.C. Holbert of the New Haven Police Department, 35-year-old Jessica Greer is accused of having “intentionally caused physical injury,” to a victim by allegedly striking him with a closed fist and clutching a railroad spike, choking him with a dog lead, biting him, kicking him in the head and pulling a knife on him. The complaint was filed in Nelson Circuit Court Friday.

  • Copeland recused from closed meeting on settlement

    Councilwoman Kecia Copeland walked out with two lawyers during a two-and-a-half-hour closed-door meeting of the Bardstown City Council Tuesday and remained in the lobby with them until officials reopened the session.

    One of the attorneys, Keith Sparks, would not say whether or not Copeland is suing the city.

    “I cannot confirm or deny anything,” he said.

  • Third lawsuit filed in relation to May crash that killed three

    A third lawsuit has been filed against the semi driver involved in a fatal May crash on the Bluegrass Parkway that killed two grandparents and a toddler and injured another child.

    A complaint was filed Sept. 1 in Nelson Circuit Court against Richie B. Warren, the driver; his employer, Alford Hawkins Morris; and Kentucky Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company.
