Tax bills in, garbage out.

Having encountered resistance to his proposal to replace the landline fee for dispatch services with a fee on garbage collection bills, County Judge-Executive Dean Watts proposed Tuesday that the Nelson County Fiscal Court instead add a $24 annual fee to every resident’s property tax bill.

The magistrates approved the proposal, reluctantly, saying they would have preferred some other method. A second reading and approval is required, however, for it to be enacted.
