  • William Gerald “Jerry” Pyle, 32,

    William Gerald “Jerry” Pyle, 32, Bloomfield, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, in New Haven. He was a native of Jefferson County and an employee of Welch Brothers Construction Company.

    Survivors include a son, William Logan Pyle, Bardstown; his parents, Harrell Raymond “Pete” and Winifred “Winnie” Warner Pyle, Bloomfield; two brothers, Michael Pyle, Bardstown, David Pyle, Bloomfield; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

  • Jenifer Kay Denton, 34

    Jenifer Kay Denton, 34, Bowling Green, formerly of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at her residence. She was born Jan. 16, 1975, in Marion County. She was a 1994 graduate of Nelson County High School and 2002 graduate of Western Kentucky University. She worked as a freelance graphic designer. She was the 1988-89 MDA Goodwill Ambassador for Kentucky. She was an active member of WKU Gamers' Guild.

    She was preceded in death by two stepbrothers, Anthony R. Cissell and Steven Cissell.

  • Jeanne B. Edwards, 85

    Jeanne B. Edwards, 85, Bowling Green, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at Greenview Regional Hospital. She retired in 1988 after 33 years of service with the Warren County School System. She taught in the Health and Physical Education Department at Bristow High School and later Warren East High School. She was a charter member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher’s Sorority, a charter member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Masters Degree in education.

  • Rita Hayden Rogers, 82

    Rita Hayden Rogers, 82, Lebanon Junction, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. She was a native of Lebanon Junction, a housewife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and St. Benedict Woman’s Club. She was a member of the YMCA, and Lebanon Junction China Painters Club.

  • Jackie Franklin Jones, 55

    Jackie Franklin Jones, 55, Cave City, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital, Glasgow. He was a self-employed carpenter.

    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Faye Ridgeway; his father, James Jones; two sisters, Sylvia Wilkerson and Molly Richardson; and a brother, Steve Jones.

  • Christopher Robert Wilson, 28

    Christopher Robert Wilson, 28, Cox’s Creek, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009. He was an employee of E.H. Construction, an Army National Guard veteran and a member of Riverview Baptist Church.

    Survivors include his parents, Garry and Nancy Wilson; a sister, Lindsay Hall; a brother, Brandon Wilson; his grandparents, Robert and Virginia Davis and Jane Lynn; a nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

    The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial in Mount Washington Cemetery.

  • Jane Savage Petway, 59,

    Jane Savage Petway, 59, Willisburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at her home. A native of Marion County, she was born Aug. 15, 1950, to the late Art Earl and Flossie Evelyn Tungate Marple. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

    She was preceded in death with two brothers, David Marple and Robert Marple.

    Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Loraine Davis, Louisville, and Vanessa Ruth Severs, Lexington; a son, Bobby Dean Davis Jr., Louisville; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Chesser, Willisburg.

  • Clara Berniece Hyatt, 86

    Clara Berniece Hyatt, 86, Bardstown, died Monday Sept. 14, 2009, at Colonial Nursing Home in Bardstown. She was the former Berniece Berry, a native of the Woodlawn area of Nelson County, a homemaker and a member and former choir member of Woodlawn Beechfork Methodist Church.

  • Wanda Brothers Barr, 64

    Wanda Brothers Barr, 64, Willisburg, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. A native of Washington County, she was born Aug. 12, 1945. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church at Tatham Springs, a 1963 graduate of Willisburg High School and a former employee of the former Cricketeer Company of Harrodsburg.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Virgie Devine Brothers.

  • Derek Alan Downs, 28

    Derek Alan Downs, 28, Bardstown, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, in Bardstown.

    A native of Nelson County, he was a mechanic for Brangers Machine Shop in Elizabethtown and of the Baptist faith.

    Survivors include his wife, Erin Lynn Rust Downs, New Haven; a son, Derek Hunter Downs, New Haven; his mother and stepfather- Milbert and Pamela Star Beavers Bartley, Bardstown; two brothers, Duston Shawn and Dekota Bartley, both of Bardstown; his grandparents, Orville and Norma Jean Beavers, Bloomfield, and Tom and Ivy Bartley, Bardstown; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
