  • Visitation for TNHS student to be held at school

    There will be weekend visitation for a Thomas Nelson High School student killed in a crash Thursday morning.

    Taylor Brooke “Tay” Martin, 17, of Boston, was killed early Thursday morning after her car ran off the road and struck a tree.

    Martin was a senior at the high school and a member of the Lady Generals soccer team and Atletico Flames Club soccer team in Elizabethtown.

  • Margaret C. “Kay” Weymouth, 73

    Margaret C. “Kay” Weymouth, 73, died Sunday, March 25, 2012. She had been an outstanding member of TOPS Club in Bardstown.

    Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years Everett Weymouth; her children, Bill (Sharon) Perkins, Everett Weymouth Jr., Charlotte (Ward) Johnson, Craig (Melissa) Weymouth, Linda (Jerry) Portman, Shelia Hill, Pam Weymouth, Ernest Perkins and Chris Weymouth; 11 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.

    A service honoring her life will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home.

  • Clara “Renee” Donahue, 44

    Clara “Renee” Donahue, 44, Holy Cross, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, from injuries sustained in an auto accident near Holy Cross. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank William “Possum” Donahue.

    Survivors include a daughter, Amber (Justin Seale) Mattingly, Lexington; and her mother, Sharon Thompson Donahue, Holy Cross.

    The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with interment to follow in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, St. Francis. The Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate.

    Glynn Cheatham, 77, Chaplin, died Monday March 26, 2012, at Signature Health Care, Taylorsville. He was born May 8, 1934, in Chaplin, a self-employed farmer, Nelson County Magistrate for 12 years, a member of North East Nelson Fire Board, and Chaplin Baptist Church.

    He was preceded in death by a son, Thad Cheatham; his parents, Sanford and Onita Cheatham; and a brother, Garnett Cheatham.

  • Christopher Randall “Chris” Sweasy, 34

    Christopher Randall “Chris” Sweasy, 34, Crandall, Ind., died Friday, March 23, 2012, at his residence. He was a self-employed carpet and hardwood flooring installer, a member of the Kentuckiana Bulldog Club and he bred and raised English Bulldogs.

  • Joseph Lee Greenwell, 69

    Joseph Lee Greenwell, 69, Kenosha, Wis., died peacefully Friday, March 16, 2012, at Kenosha Estates Care Center. He was born Sept. 25, 1942, in Kentucky. On Sept. 16, 1964, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Lila Lee (nee: Nally) Greenwell. They lived in Antioch, Ill., for many years until moving to Kenosha in 2000.

  • James Bernard “Jimmy” Houck, 81

    James Bernard “Jimmy” Houck, 81, Bardstown, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Indianapolis, a veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps serving in the Korean War, and former owner of Rock Drilling Inc.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lou Reed Houck; and his parents, Everett B. and Ada Clements Houck.

    Survivors include a daughter, Donna Gritton, Bardstown; and four grandchildren, Lindsey Gritton, Sean Gritton, Justin Gritton, and Josh Gritton, all of Bardstown.

  • Billy Randall Moore, 76

    Billy Randall Moore, 76, Springfield, died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at his home. A native of Washington County, he was born Dec. 2, 1935. He was a member of the Springfield United Methodist Church, a member of the Springfield Masonic Lodge No. 50 F. & A.M., served in the National Guard, a former truck driver for Florida Tile, a former employee of the Washington County Road Department and was currently employed by Beechfork Trucking Company.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Mary Moore; and a brother, Beverly Moore on Jan. 14, 2011.
