Fourth-grader Miyah Courtney views the eclipse with her class Monday afternoon at St. Gregory School.
Look up!

Audrey Greenwell and her classmates took a break from the playground and flopped on the grass as they viewed the progress of Monday’s eclipse.

“It’s very powerful that it only has a little bit left and it’s still this bright!” Miyah Courtney said in awe, referencing the area’s moment of 97.8 percent coverage. The schoolchildren at St. Gregory were just a few of the many locals who enjoyed Monday’s solar event.

Hundreds gathered at the Nelson County Public Library Monday afternoon for a special celebration.
