PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: NC girls rout WC for 25th straight in district

Marly Walls got Nelson County off to a fast start Tuesday, tallying six points, five steals and two assists as the Cardinals built a 17-1 lead after five minutes on Washington County and never looked back on the way to a 71-14 rout.

Walls had 19 points, all in the first half, helping the Cardinals to a 25th straight win over 19th District opponents.

Amelia Hodges scored 24 — including four three-pointers — and Ella Thompson added 11.
