    Maternal grandparents are Kevin and Sherri Willett and Jenny and Kevin Lyvers, all of Bardstown. Paternal grandparents are Bob and Ruth Sallee, of Cox’s Creek.

    The baby was welcomed home by a brother, Travis Robert, 3.

  • A.J. Lewis and Erin Claeys, of Bardstown, announce the birth of a daughter, Harper Raya Lewis, Sept. 13, 2017, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She weighed 5 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19-1/4 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are David and Jan Claeys, of Springfield.

    Paternal grandfather is Ray Lewis, of Bardstown.

    The baby was welcomed home by a brother, Rowan, 4.

  • Jane Anne and Jason Giordon, of Cox’s Creek, announce the birth of a daughter, Natalie Jane, Aug. 4, 2017, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20-1/2 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Kenneth and Jane Coulter, of Bloomfield. Paternal grandparents are Brian and Mary Pochatko, of Sugar Grove, Penn.

  • George Jackson, of New Haven, and Marilyn Jackson of Bardstown, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Nikki Renee Jackson, to Eric Richard Moore, son of Rick and Mary Moore and Wayne and Sandy Hicks, of Owensboro.

    The bride-elect is a 2009 graduate of University of Louisville and a 2013 graduate of Bellarmine University. She is currently a medical laboratory scientist, specializing in microbiology.

  • Charles and Debbie Mattingly, of Cox’s Creek, announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Ann Mattingly, to James Jarred Cecil, son of Joe Cecil, of New Hope, and Karen Greenwell, of Bloomfield.

    The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate of Nelson County High School and a 2014 graduate of the University of Kentucky. She is employed by Kroger in Louisville.

    The groom-elect is a 2008 graduate of Nelson County High School. He is employed by Flowers Bakery in Bardstown.

  • St. Michael to celebrate 225th anniversary

    St. Michael, in Fairfield, will celebrate its 225th anniversary Sunday, Oct. 1. The Most Rev. Joseph E. Kurtz, archbishop of Louisville, will preside. The anniversary Mass begins at 11 a.m. and will be followed by a meal in the parish hall. St. Michael is located at 111 Church St. The church service and luncheon are open to the public.

    Christian Church revival

    The Rolling Fork Christian Church will be in revival Sunday, Sept. 24-Wednesday, Sept. 27, with Brother Ron Downs preaching. Homecoming will be during the Sunday morning worship hour at 11 a.m., and revival will continue Sunday through Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
